Went Swimming and almost Lost an Earring

I waited today until after seven oclock to go to the pool. I like to go when the sun is almost down but still shining for a little while. Only a few people were there, a couple of moms with their little children and a couple of guys. The water felt good but cool. I'd been in about twenty minutes when the rain started pouring. I got out of the pool and grabbed my towel and felt one of my earrings slip off. I crawled around the pool deck and finally found the earring but the little thingy that holds it on is gone forever. They are my favorite earrings but I have other thingys to hold the earring on so all is well.

I learned to take all my jewelry off because I have lost one before.

@chavezrmc well, yes same here. I do not usually wear it everyday. I witness how a snatcher got the earrings of my friend while we are inside the jeepney. And the earrings was just silver.

@RubyHawk I have a few pairs that I truly treasure and would hate to lose because I could not replace them.

oh, sorry for the loss, but is that piece of jewelry a vintage item? maybe you had that since you were still a young adult?

@Courtlynn I can't believe you don't wear earrings, most everyone I know does, except one of my sisters.

At least you found your earring and that is all that matters.

Luckily you found your earring! Sometimes those little suckers can be impossible to see once you drop them on the ground. And it's even worse if you lose one in the poo!
When I was in high school, my girlfriend and I went to the beach the weekend after we received our class rings. We were swimming in the ocean, and then when we got out and went to dry off and lay out and tan on the beach, my girlfriend realized she had lost her class ring in the ocean! But here's the crazy part...later in the day when we went back into the water to cool off, she saw her ring laying on the shore right by a pile of seaweed! How cool was that? The odds of finding jewelry lost in the ocean are pretty much slim to none.

All that matters is you retrieved the earring for a happy ending.

You're lucky you found your favorite earrings. Mine got lost in a pool forever. So now I buy fake ones, even if I lost them I don't feel sad lol
