Female Foeticide - A vice which needs to be stopped!!

In today's modern times, wherein we as humans have become so modern and forward in thinking with the help of internet and stuff, still there are people who kills female child while they are in a mother's womb or kill them once they enter this world.
At many places in India, it's happening and not only in rural villages but in metropolitan cities wherein educated people of the society are taking such extreme steps.
It has reduced to a certain extent as more and more awareness campaigns are conducted in order to educate people of the importance of female birth and how to educate them as well.

It will not stop until dowry stops. Dowry is the real cause behind this evil.

Its awful! it was a real bad tragic common occurrence over in china as a result of the 1 child per couple policy. They eventually over turned the law/rule because it really has a detrimental effect on the future generations. Putting it mildly, they kinda started running out/ low of women for reproduction ...
I really don't understand how people care about kids gender... I know a lot is about different customs and society expectations. In some areas, there is a price to be paid for having a girl and getting her settled/married.
Over here in America, I know we are free of such thoughts/concerns. Kids are kinda expected to take care of themselves when older/ getting married.
