Hi guys,
I hope everyone is doing well today. I am just a little upset. I was working on an article. It was almost finished, over 600 words, and my computer froze. I lost the whole article.
Have you ever had this happen?
I did not have a chance to save the article.

I usually do save it after a couple of paragraphs, but I was on a roll and did not save it. I will get back to it later.

@whiteream I suppose on the bright side, the idea or premise is still there so you CAN just rewrite it. But it does, at least for me, take a little bit of the wind out of my sails.

@porwest In this case it really did for me because I never rewrote that article. I ended up posting a different one.

It only happens once in a while when I get that feeling that I just have to keep going because I am on a roll and can't stop or I will forget what I am writing.

I hate when that happens. If I am writing a long article or story I usually save it after a few paragraphs, but sometimes I forget..

It was just one of those things that happen. It was a reminder to me not to do it again. I have gotten into the very bad habit of writing the whole article and not saving it until the end. I have written software that you can program to save every few minutes.

Its better to type it first in your note pad, then save, then bring it out again, continue, then save and so on... Just copy paste when you have your final draft to post.

I've been in this situation before. So later, I wrote articles and kept them while I was writing them.

The only time I write stuff out on paper is if I get an idea and I have no computer nearby. I often write poetry on paper first.

@whiteream That's a good idea.
Sometimes this happens to me.

Yes, and it is infuriating.

This time is wasn't that bad at first I was upset because it was a long article and one that I felt would be helpful to others. It was quitting smoking. But after some thought. I realize that I could write an even better one.

I really should have known better. But, I guess because the software was opened already, I decided to use a grammar software to write the article in. One that I know froze from time to time.
