The Blessing of Bills

Here it is, the end of one month turning over to the beginning of a new one. And that means the monthly ritual: BILLS. No, I'm not crazy about the bills, but I am thankful for them. The mortgage means I have a house and don't have to live beneath an overpass or in a shelter. The car payment means I have a car and I don't have to walk everywhere. The electric bill means I'm comfortable in the heat of summer and in the frigid nights of winter. The water bill means I have safe water to drink, and I have it on demand instead of having to hunt for it or haul it from a well or a river. Credit card bills mean that I have luxuries. No, not the luxuries that the super-stinking-rich have, but I can go out of town for a weekend, play a golf tournament, then come home and write out a check for the expenses. I don't have much in life, but I have everything I need and most of what I want. Plus, when the bills come at the first of the month I can pay them. Those are true blessings. This song has nothing to do with this post, I'm just listening to it as I type:

I agree with you. I say a morning prayer each day and thank the Lord for all the blessings I do have.

I thought you meant the monthly blessing of Bill Monroe and Bill Anderson.

Yeah nice realization you have in there. It is a good thing that you think positively what those bills are for. For most of the people out there the bills are thought of as a burden for them not realising that the bills are there to remind you that a month ago you were lucky to have enjoyed the services they gave you live comfortable in life.

It is a thoughtful post. We never take BILLS as blessings but actually they are. We are blessed to have them and afford them.
