Was talking with a couple of co-workers today about budgeting. The first gal I spoke to told me about what she and her husband did when they first got married, and it made sense to me--it involved looking at what was spent on what every month (by saving reciepts) and figuring out how much money you had to spend on things and balancing it by looking at what you really needed. My boss' mom, who goes to the same bank as I do, told me that the bank has a budget plan, but when I looked at it it didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I think that if I had more direct deposit things connected to my checking account it would. I think that I will try the way my first co-worker spoke about, and maybe start connecting some more things to my checking account to see if that might work better. Ah, living on one's own for the first time...

Keeping track of expenses seems like a good habit that I have to follow. Though I know I don't do unnecessary expenses but at the end of the month I will have no idea how much I saved and how much I spent.

That is a good practice. I will keep receipt from.now on and compare monthly expenses. What I really.needed will help me with the right budget
