Wow, what Happened to the Year?

It seems like we just celebrated New Year's and now it is August already. Is time speeding up? Am I the only one who notices that? I just can't believe how fast the time is going. When I was a kid, it seemed that time went on forever. Now it just whizzes by faster.

I say this same thing often. The summer has flown by. I am kind of dreading the kids going back to school.

@akalinus Yes, I have already gone through this once. My oldest boys are 29, 27 and 24. Sometimes it seems like yesterday they were in elementary school. Now, my younger three are cruising along way too fast.

@akalinus I think we notice it more as we get older.

I wonder if it really does that or do we notice it more when we are older/

We have been away for three months of the year and now it seems there is little left of it.

@JudyEv It is the same with all the Monday holidays. It throws the whole week off.

@akalinus Time seems slower when we were kids when summer seemed to last forever and we looked to long lives. As we get older and busier, time seems faster and dwindling.

Yes I cannot hardly believe that fall is just around the corner Jo Ann, though I do look forward to it. Time has been speeding up for me for the last 5 yrs or so.

Fall is my favorite season. I used to live in New York but now in Florida where there is no fall season.

@Courage7 I really do. I loved the fall foliage and the warm days and cool nights, the crisp leaves that snap when you step on them, the geese forming large groups to fly south.

Busyness makes that time feel fast, if it doesn't feel busy then time will feel long.

It won't be long before Mylot is flooded with Christmas and holiday topics again. When I was young I always wished it was my birthday because of the party and presents but time did not seem to move.

I know and now I am not happy to have my birthday come around so often. I am glad I survived another year, though. I thought childhood would last forever, but suddenly it was gone.

I feel the same way but I think it's because I'm more aware of time now than I was when I was in my 20s

Yes, age makes us more aware of our mortality @akalinus

@rebelann Losing people around us adds to that awareness, painfully so.

We have so many things to fill the day and that makes the days fly past us. Earlier one did not know what to do after retirement but now it does not matter as we have a busy schedule to attend to! siva
