Unpredictable Weather

Last evening I had just stepped out of my house to go for a long walk when it suddenly started raining heavily.I rushed back to my room to take cover. I sat down on a chair waiting for the rain to stop, but what followed was quite unexpected.Within seconds the rain turned into a heavy downpour and within minutes there was water everywhere on the road outside my window. Never before in my life had I experienced such unpredictable weather conditions. From tomorrow I will not forget taking my raincoat with me before leaving for long evening walk.

I'm not sure I have experienced it like that, but we do have some heavy rains here now and then. My back yard is on a slight slope and one time it rained so hard, the water was running around the corner of the house and down the side like a small river. It left a mess, too.

@peavea That's the appropriate word. It's a mess.We have bushes here around our house. The area turns into a hell after a heavy downpour.

It happened to me last year: in June on a totally sunny day and blue sky. Suddenly, downpour, thunder and lightning. I was totally soaked.

@marlina But it had never happened me.A couple of days back such an expected downpour left me completely drenched from head to toe while I was on my way back home.Clouds suddenly appeared from nowhere and stared raining.

@aureliah I think raincoat is a better option, especially in our area where rain often follows a storm.Fast blowing winds may turn your umbrella upside down.
