What do you love about cooking meals yourself

Do you enjoy making meals yourself I do.I enjoy making my meals because I can add and subtract ingredients I want want and I will be careful with the amount of salt and spices add because I don't really love them and it helps me be a better cook.How about you what makes you prepare your meals,what do you love about it?

I can see many items easy to do... but I am not good at recipes that does not involve oil.

I like my own seasoning
