Good gloomy Thursday morning from this side of the planet, how are you all? It is a gloomy day today and it is not so hot. Probably the weather disturbance is affecting our region here. I am extending my patience now. (Sorry for my rant, I just want to release this emotions inside of me!) I was so tired yesterday because of the chores I did. I cook our food, prepare and distribute the dogs’ food, and wash their dishes and ours (sister and me) for lunch and supper (with my son’s plate). I rest after all these are done. Yesterday morning, I bathed 2 dogs as well, groomed them too. My sister, I know, is not feeling well. I understand that. But it pisses me off because after she feeds the 2 small dogs, I am left in the kitchen doing the dog food of 9 big dogs, then I have to wash their plates after. I also do the aftercare of the kitchen. She is already seated and watching our favorite evening series. (Right now too, she is seated in front of the TV while playing Sudoku.)She leaves the other chores for me to finish while she is already resting. And then this morning, she wanted me to take her blood pressure. She said she did not yet take her maintenance anti-hypertensive medicines. She was already looking weak. When I read her BP to be 110/70 mmHg which is normal, her face suddenly changed. Because it was normal, she complained of shoulder pains, stomach ache, feeling of thickening of her soles, etc. Her hypochondriasis is once again activated. I would sigh, and she asks me why I sigh. I tell her I am just tired. That is why I have to extend my patience to her. I am also sick; apparently, she does not acknowledge that.

Maybe you need to have a hired help.

i and my son wanted to hire a helper but my sister says it is costly. it is because she abides by the law stating that house helpers should have SSS, Pag-Ibig and Philhealth benefits. i told her many do not do that but she is a LAW-ABIDING Filipino citizen. she prefers to be a good boss of the house.

@ridingbet Oh yeah I've heard about that "Kasambahay Law". It's really nice for the hired helps to be insured.

@sol_cee yes that is true, but have you heard from the news about some household helpers who rob their employers? that is what we are scared of.

Nothing I can advise you with except what you already wanted to do. In my case, I would be extending my patience too by the time my grandma comes.

@ridingbet That is a bad situation. A lot of work for one person. You need to slow down having a heart condition, or you won't be there at all, your sister. should think about that.

@popciclecold my sister knows that. we have a pact, that is i don't feel well, i remain seated in one position or any chair, and i don't do chores. she is very vocal.

You're a nurse and I think your sister is really expecting you to be her nurse at all times.

i agree with you. but a problem though is, she diagnoses herself and then asks me if what she feels is a manifestation of the illness she thought she has. an example is her episodes of regurgitation. she tells me she might have ulcer, then she asks me if regurgitation is a sign.

@ridingbet You are her nurse and she treats you like one, but she thinks of herself as a doctor!

@toniganzon i couldn't say anything anymore because you hit it right in the head. this morning, she was asking me the difference between Citirizine and Cinnarazine. i had to explain to her several times. she thinks the -AZINE and the -IZINE do mean the same.

I think she is just pretending to be feeling those, when actually, she just wants you to do all the chores. Oh, just feeding the 9 dogs is already tiring, how much more washing their plates, cooking and washing the dishes after. That is indeed so tiring! Maybe you should ask her to do the more subtle works.

@ridingbet Maybe you should tell her that in a calm and nice way.

@SIMPLYD yes i do, but i know her too well now. we are only 2 at home, time and again, she whines about any discomfort she feels in her body. i keep quiet, don't mind her, then she might stop, who knows.

she knows if i am tired if i remain seated and not doing anything. but of late, my sister seems to be dependent on me, or maybe because she thinks i will be back to work, so she wants me to do the chores because when she is alone, she will do the chores herself. it will only take a couple of hours that she is alone. son comes home at 5:45PM. i should be the one to have light chores because i have an ailing heart.

That is quite a lot of work especially preparing the meals for the 9 dogs but it exercises your body which is good

yes it should be, but it is so taxing to press down the rice while adding the cooked ground meat for them, and distributing the rice and the viand, all of them.

110/70 is perfectly normal, she would have not asked you to take her blood pressure if she knew.

aw. Sorry to hear that. I think she wants the attention especially if she is sick. She thinks that she will get worse well in fact it is not.

well, since we are only 2 at home now, all of my attention is geared towards her. even when i am already asleep, she barges in my room and asks me if she can still take an anxiolytic, at 1AM.
