It was a long queue in the bank. I was there at 9:30am and I finished at 11:40am. There were so many people who updated their ATM with that sim-like feature at the front of the card.
When I tried to withdraw, the ATM said I have to change my pin code. I didn't want to so I couldn't withdraw. So when the bank teller said the new card should have a new pin code,I made on and I was able to withdraw. Success!
I have to register this new debit card on PayPal so I can withdraw from PayPal and deposit it in my new debit card.
The expiry date now is 2028, from 2021.

My LBP card that I changed has the EMV already since last year. That was the card I used to withdraw last August 12.
This new card has that sim - like feature as told my the lady in charge of receiving the documents from us. She said that sim feature is to secure the card.

I think I had mine updated in 2017. When I was at BPI last week there was these two women who entered and wanted to withdraw still using the old ATM card and they couldn't anymore.

yes, and i wonder why some banks here do not follow that policy; some quicker than the others as regards following the rule.

i think they encourage us to change the default pin immediately so those who know it can't take advantage of it.
