It's not that I am opposed to trying new things. Quite the contrary. But sometimes when I am on the road traveling I just stick with what I know.
But my second time running through the Wichita, Kansas area I saw more than a couple billboards for Spangles. So last night I decided to give it a try.
It reminds me a lot of Culver's, albeit with a different color scheme. But the concept and the menu items are very similar. Last night I chose to have chicken parmesan fingers with a marinara sauce and a 1/3 lb mushroom and swiss burger on a sourdough bun.
I have to say it was pretty good. I mean, nothing spectacular that would give me an extreme wow factor. But it was good, and I definitely think I will have another go my next time through Wichita.
The food was good, not terribly pricey, and the plus is that it is a family owned franchise, and certainly a smaller business. I am happy to contribute to that kind of company.

Spangles sounds good. I saw lots of signs for Culvers when I was in the Midwest..I wish I could have stopped because I have read how good it is. We have plenty of decent chains around here though.
