Day 8 Luke 3:21 Luke 3:21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, 22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. Have you had doubts about the legitimacy of some people? With so much fake news today, it’s hard to believe anything you read or hear about. Jesus went to be baptized by John the Baptist, and when he did so, the heavens opened and a dove descended and lit upon him, and a voice from heaven proclaimed him as God’s Son. Matthew 3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and come thou to me? 15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becomes us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him. 16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Mark 1:9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. 10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: 11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (KJV) John 1:32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. 33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizes with the Holy Ghost. 34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. All gospel writers wrote about this specific event, and three of them record testimony of the voice of God proclaiming him as God’s Son. John records the witness of the event with the evidence of the event by the sign John the Baptist would know Jesus is the Son of God. As Christians, you know this was a momentous event. God proclaimed Jesus as his beloved son, in whom he was well-pleased. All those who were at Jesus’ baptism also heard God’s voice proclaim him as his Son, their Messiah. John’s gospel further stated who he was – the Lamb of God. John 1:36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he said, Behold the Lamb of God! In calling Jesus, the Lamb of God, John proclaimed Jesus’ purpose, to die for the sins of the world. He told the people, Jesus was their Messiah. Jesus’ baptism was a life-changing event for the Jewish people, yet they did not recognize what they witnessed, even with God proclaiming him as his Son. Have you witnessed any life-changing events? Did it move you? Did you recognize it for what it was? If you are a Christian, one such life-changing event was when you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. Your life hasn’t been the same since that day. Let’s pray: Father, help me recognize life-changing events in my life. Your Son, Jesus, gave the signs I am to look for in his return for his bride, the church. Let me be aware of the signs, so I will know them when I see them. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Much of what the DEUTERONOMY says is now allowed, will it be that the book was wrong? Jesus came to earth to ask us to love one another, love your neighbor as yourself and taught us that whoever is free from sin should throw the first stone, a hope of life.

The Bible is not wrong. We are to love everyone, and none of us is without sin. Have a blessed day.
