chalk crime scene

Yesterday the kids asked me if they could play out front with the chalk and the chalk paint. We have plenty of driveway and sidewalk in front of the house that they can decorate, plus it's an activity that keeps them outside and away from the TV, so I agreed. A little bit later, I went to check on them and discovered a murder! Or at least a crime scene, complete with a chalk weapon on the ground. The driveway was covered with chalk outlines of bodies and splashed with (pink) blood! Oh, the carnage! Fortunately, all of the children are still alive and they only metaphorically murdered each other. Maybe the next time they want to play outside, I'll give them a bucket of water and a mop so they can wash the crime scene off of the driveway.

We do have a hose out front. I decided to leave their artwork for now, and they can clean off whatever nature hasn't taken off by the end of the week.

@spiderdust I remember this as a child playing hopscotch and making a diagram on this.

@amadeo They have a hopscotch grid that they drew earlier in the summer. I'll get a picture of it if I can.

The first year that this group was all together for Christmas Eve, they made disembodied heads, zombies, and serial killers. I was not prepared.

Lol, I remember tracing one another with chalk as a kid. But never did a crime scene. That's kinda funny.
