I'm itching to spend money.

I've perused a few sites, put books in carts and then closed out of the site.
I've considered going out to the thrift store, or the other book store I like.
I've neither clicked the "checkout" button nor stepped outside the house today.
I'm itching to buy a book or two.
I have a few in mind, as any good read-aholic would.
I love the thrill of a package arriving on my doorstep, or of a full bag of books on my arm.
I don't need to spend the money.
I don't need the books either.
I need self control though, as I am tempted to check out ebay. I know there's a few sellers that offer deals.

They do have good prices on some of their ebooks but not really on their physical books. They used to have penny deals, but they got rid of that.
I ended up going with ebay. There's a seller on there that has a buy three books and get 15% off deal.

@RubyHawk I Would go with ebay, but that's only because I don't really like amazon anymore.
Though ebay will probably have just what you need.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That sounds good, I need to go to ebay or amazon to look for a song book. I used to sing all the time and I still sing bits and pieces. I'm looking for some of the old songs from the eighties and nineties. .

I am like that too I need to stop the urge to spend money and start saving again. I just bought some lularoe shirts for myself as it's been 6 months since I've bough any. I used to buy like every month but not anymore. Now if I spend money it's stuff I need instead of stuff I want.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Haha yeah I know the feeling. I need to buy new winter boots before winter gets here, just haven't had the chance too yet. I still got a few months before I need too.

@Blondie2222 Our winters are hit and miss. I havent' owned a pair of winter bots since I was a little girl.
I just wear my vans. I"m the one that goes out and checks the mail, that checks how high the snow has gotten.

I am really bad about taking forever to buy things I need. I finally bought myself two pairs of new shoes a couple of years ago. My co-worker at the time said "it was about damn time! I was going to buy you a pair of shoes myself if you didn't buy some soon!"

There are a few books that I want to buy. I've checked out Amazon and B&N to see how much they cost. Have not made the plunge though to actually buy them.

Check out half priced books, thriftbooks etc. Check the dollar tree as well, they have books and it's worth a look, especially if the ones you want are there.
If you go to ebay, there's a store "Better World Books" that has an ongoing (atleast I think it's ongoing) promotion of buy three books and get 15% off.

@ScribbledAdNauseum One of the books is a new release and it's a popular book so doubt it would be in the dollar store.

@lovebuglena a person who works for DT says that the best seller's eventually make their way to DT.
I want to get "The President Is Missing." and it's a best seller. I found it on ebay for cheap but I'm waiting a little while longer to see if I can get it locally for cheap as well.

I'm sure one or two new ones won't hurt. Plus then the urge to buy will be over.

I went on ebay and went with a store that was offering a 15% discount when you buy three of them. I spent $10.00 on three books, which I suppose isn't bad.

@Courtlynn Every penny counts for me though, and while $10.00 won't hurt me, I can't always justify it.

haha, but I'm really a very frugal person. I don't spend money often, but sometimes I get these urges to spend.

@porwest So true. I used to have over $1000 in my savings account for rainy days and splurges but that dwindled down and so I don't have nearly as much in savings now.
Which is why I have to try to be as picky as I can with what money I spend.

@ScribbledAdNauseum We all do. Even we who are frugal. I mean, at the end of the day one of the best reasons to save on things we need, and put money aside for tomorrow is so that when we DO want to splurge we can actually afford it.

Everyone seems to be assuming that I do not read e-books. I do read e-books, but I also like physical books.

@Janet357 I have authors that I read exclusively on my kindle (these are short 90 minute reads) and then I have authors I like to have the physical copies of their books.

Right now I mostly am resisting, unless it is something I specifically am looking for. Today after breakfast with a friend I went to two Dollar stores and two thrift shops. I got basically what I was looking for and very little else. Including breakfast I spent twenty dollars. I have a new pot for a large plant and drip tray for same, a new pair of shoes, new top, new purse, new lunch bag and some cat food, oh, and quart jars for more pickles.

I do love thrift stores. So many good deals and you do not feel so bad after spending the money.
That is not bad at all for $20.00.

I ended up buying three off of ebay. I only spent $10.00.
I went out today and got two more, and I only spent about $1.40 on them. One I was able to get for 26 cents after using a voucher. The other was only $1.00 + tax because I got it from the dollar tree.

I rent a movie from amazon on occasion. It's been awhile since I've rented one though. I want to see Deadpool 2 so I may rent it soon.

You sound like me. It was not just some books I was purchasing things online for my apartment to make it livable for me. Then I got a bit sales happy and brought up almost more than I should have but now I am putting a stop to all that because I have enough. It is so tempting to keep looking for this and that but I must not spend any more. It was fun though the last thing that arrived with a recliner in which I plan to recline and read

The "sales" always get me. I always spend more than I intend to because "It's such a good bargain."
I spent $10.00 today on ebay. I bought three books from betterworldbooks (through ebay) and got 15% off my purchase.
I guess it could have been worse.

@RasmaSandra I am already anticipating my next book haul. I think I've created a monster within myself. Look around the house to see if there's anything that can be sold to the thrift store, go sell it there, possibly pick up a few books from them, and then go to the dollar tree and goodwill.
I'm thinking of going to another bookstore, the one I've told you is further away. I think that needs to be a trip I save for a day that I have a good $30.00 to spend.

I've used scribd before, and another one called Oyster? I think it was oyster, it was something similar to scribd.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yeah similar. I don't think Oyster is still a thing. I am pretty sure they went under a couple years ago.
Scribd used to only let you have three books and one audiobook a month. But they've changed it so you can have a lot more ebooks. I don't do audio books often, so that doesn't really matter to me.

I have a voucher for the thrift store, it's not much but it would cover the cost of one of their books, even if I might have to pay the sales tax.
I don't know, I feel like I'll probably cave and get a few books online. This is why I need to do some of my sites and cash out for ebay, that way when I get these urges, I can just spend the giftcard and not feel guilty.
