Escalators Make Me Feel Anxious

Today I used an escalator for the first time in months. It reminded me of my minor fear of them.
Many years ago, my shoe got caught between steps for a second and I stumbled a little. Thankfully I did not get injured, but ever since then, I feel anxious when getting on an escalator.
Is there something that causes you to be extra cautious and/or anxious?

@BloggerDi I so believe that the more you do it the lesser the anxiety it will be. I think you just train you mind to think there’s nothing wrong in riding escalators anymore.

@rsa101 Yes, I agree that we can sometimes overcome our fears by facing them!

Thank you @rsa101. That's how I am. I have the most nervousness when first getting on it.

muddy fields where I'm convinced I'll get stuck and sink without trace

That's a valid concern, especially if you spend much time out in fields! Thank you @arthurchappell.

@BloggerDi no, generally I know it would at best make my shoes muddy, but I start imagining the slightest mud is some sort of quicksand

Escalators can be frightening. I was never afraid of them. I remember when one of my nephews when he was very young was afraid to get on one. He finally did. I feel uncomfortable with getting on an elevator that broke down and people were stuck in it.

I am glad that you were safe that time. I saw an incident with escalator when a woman in Saree fell down.

I do not feel anxious riding escalators though it reminds me of my unforgettable experience with my sister when we were little. We were in the escalator when we found out that we lost track with our parents so we cried aloud, hugging each other.

@BloggerDi Actually, we find that moment very funny right now. We laugh every time we remember that embarrassing moment. People riding in the escalator were all laughing since we decided to run upward while the escalator was going down. :D

I think it is important that we are always extra cautious in our daily lives.

Going up an escaalator is fine for me but going down I don't like as well, especially if it moves tooo fast.

That's quite understandable @Aquitaine24. It seems the risk for falling is greater in that situation. Thanks for your comment!

Anne is very cautious with escalators. I do not care to get very near the top rung of a ladder.

Thanks @JamesHxstatic. I think most people have at least one thing that makes them feel uneasy if not totally frightened.

@BloggerDi oh yeah. Same is with mum.
But she's now 65, and she has little numbness in legs so I don't force her to.

Thanks @ShifaLk. That's a good idea. I don't use them often at all and that's probably why I'm still nervous about them!
