goneAWHILE

I was gone for a couple of hours because I have my chores to do, and also prepared the evaluation of my students. Yes, we will not have duty on Monday and Tuesday, so I sat for a while to do the grades. The meeting we had last week brought up some topics on how to rate our students. They introduced a new ‘style’ of rating the learners. Although I do my own according to how I evaluate them, some of the full-time colleagues and our clinical coordinator are revising and want our ‘style’ to follow what they want to be done; that is why I am literally burning my brows to come up with my grade. As an example: How will you get the percentage of an actual rating of 19.5 against the desired rating of 30 that should be equivalent to 7% as part of the 50% level of competency? I cannot explain it in words, but this is what is breaking my head. I will be out later again, to continue burning my brows and breaking my head.

Computing grades is a headache. Especially if there's too little to compute. hehe

i compute 8 students every rotation but it is the difficulty doing their grades that makes me burn my brows. i have finished just 2 students' evaluation.

I know how it feels. It is a good thing that I don't give grades to my online students.

@ridingbet They only see the feedback after the class. Basically, it compromises the grammar mistakes and mispronounced words.

Hmmmm I think you have a different grading system... I just remember how we used to compute our grades in our major subjects.. It was so easy... 20% for our class standing (homeworks, seatworks, recitation, projects, and the like) and 80% for the exams... If I got 40 out of 100 in my exam, that is equivalent to 32% plus 20% if my class standing is perfect... My grade will be 52... awwww!!!

@brokenbee the 50% is further subdivided to 11 more levels; one has 7%, some have 5%, others 3% and the last level of competency has 4%.

How is it your place kabsat Ingrid? In here, our governor Ryan Singson declared no classes in all levels and government words in preparation against the approaching typhoon.

there was also a directive yesterday but my son said last night that he will go to school today. he went and the rest of the faculty, to fix their things like documents safe in their cabinets for the typhoon. it is becoming windy and gloomy here now, kabsat. i hope we will still have electricity until tomorrow.
