How happy I was to see this saying. It make me laugh in the middle of the chaos that my home has become. It brought back so many memories of my children when they were growing up. As I read this memories of our little tiffs came flooding back. I want them to do one they, they wanted to do another. I laugh because somehow my girls have become the people I wanted them to be. When they were young they resisted somewhat the house rules. That is, until they found out they would be sitting in a bedroom that was chaotic and messy. They found out pretty quick that I mean what I say and I say what I mean. They would not be going anywhere until the room was clean. Now they are going through all of this resistance from their own children they can understand why things were when they were growing up. Children, beware of what your own children will do when they are growing. Payback is certainly a witch.

I'm getting great pleasure seeing my grandchildren do the same things my kids did. What goes around comes around

What goes around comes around is a pretty good saying. @Marilynda1225 hit the nail on the head.

My mom never let me out before I had cleaned my room. I would have done the same if I had a daughter.

@HazySue I never complained, but I always thought she would have asked the same to my brother.

My girls would moan and groan and tell me how unfair I was being. If I had it to do again I would do the same thing.

There is a wall hanging for teenagers and it's a warning to parents. Something about 'don't forget we'll be the ones choosing your nursing home'. But it's hard not to smirk sometimes when you see your own children dealing with their kids and going through the same issues.

I once told my oldest son that I hope he has a son like you and does that to you. His son was good.

It figures. I kept waiting for my oldest daughter to have a baby that did what she did - cry the 1st 18 months of her life. It didn't happen.

A truer statement was never written. Lots of memories there. I wonder if any of my children would let me live with them. Hmm.

@HazySue Good question. The answer is yes and no. I've always been independent, and though my kids have lived with me as adults, I've never lived with them and don't know if I could.

@just4him I haven't lived with mine either since they have become adults. Somehow I think it is better not to.

@HazySue (My little one told me when she was 1YO (ages ago), 'mom, don't punish me for too long (she pinched her brother so I told her to stay in a room by herself), or I won't give you any water when you become really old and can't move...'
