Weird Word Wednesday- Resplendent

I've heard this word a few times. I don't think I've ever used it, although I knew what it meant.
It reminds me of the word splendor, which its meaning is related to.
I looked at several definitions of resplendent. Some include the word colorful, others emphasize "glittering" or "dazzling".
