SEVENdays

The severe weather disturbance at signal number 4 made its landfall in a town far from where we live, and we did not even feel it because there was no calm at the eye of the storm- just the whirling winds a - howling.
14th of September was the day of the typhoon then total power blackout and no means of communication; this isolated us from the rest of the country.
Yesterday at 6pm, electricity was restored. An hour ago, the busy phone tone was later changed to the dialtone; hence, Internet is accessible.
Another typhoon is not yet in the country's area of responsibility and it is expected to reach the farthest island of our country.
Seven days of no interaction here has also reduced my notifications to just 50, which might have resumed a few days ago.
The picture attached is the beautiful butterfly that ended its cycle of life after maybe laying its eggs in the leaves.

the electricity, internet, and water supply all came in a week's time. this new storm Paeng is located far from my province and my sister is once again so worried and anxious.

I think the shadow of Ompong still scare us. Even in my place many people are talking about Paeng.

@ridingbet same in my place back then. We we’re hit by a strong typhoon and it took some time before it was restored because all of the post went down. We have to ask help from nearby provinces to help restore the electrical lines back to normal.

@rsa101 it was so nice of the president to seek assistance from other electric cooperatives even down south to help in the restoration of our electricity last 2016 and also today.

2016, we had the water supply back after a week; electricity is less than 2 months time restoration.

Sorry you were without electricity for so long, Ingrid. It is good to know you and your family made it through the Super Typhoon. I hope you'll have a good weekend further @ridingbet .

@ridingbet sorry the weather is still so moody. I hope it will calm so that all can travel safely. It is nice that your son is a coach, he must have great leadership qualities.

@bluesa i believe so too. he is more confident than me, in my own opinion. i am so proud of him.
but i also would not want him to be abused so i asked him if he will receive compensation from being a coach and assisting the students in another town. i think every effort should be paid. it is good if only here in our place, but different if they have to travel

thank you so much. the typhoon was not as strong as last 2016's super weather disturbance, but it stayed longer in the skies because the wind speed and gustiness was below 40 kilometers per hour.

@DianneN sadly, one is near our province but we hope it won't make a landfall here again.

@ridingbet True. I'm going to ask you a very stupid question. It might even be a duh question. Here goes: How do you know the thorax was eaten in the butterfly? And another question. What is a thorax?

@ridingbet Thank you. I didn't know most of that. I did know it had three parts, but not that the chest was called the thorax.

I am glad you were spared the worst of the typhoon, lack of electricity, is a major annoyance..but better than having your home demolished or losing your life.

Glad to know that electricity has been restored in your area. I have heard another typhoon is about to enter the PAR. Not sure though. Take care, Ingrid.

thank you. yes, Paeng is hovering in the skies at very far north and is expected to enter the country's area of responsibility on Friday.
