upROOTED

the fallen tree

Good Monday morning to all. A weather disturbance is approaching our place once again but it is still so far from our city. Hopefully it won't change course so it will exit in the island of Batanes on Friday. We have not yet finished burning the dry leaves and cut the uprooted trees. The picture I attached here is the uprooted moringa tree at our backyard. The roots are not deep in the ground so with the winds blowing, it quickly tumbled down. We still have the sturdier moringa tree at the outside of my sister's room. Do you have any uprooted trees after a weather disturbance?

yes it did not. it is a bit far from our house but we dreaded if it will fall over the cemented fence. it withstood the 2016's typhoon, we felt this typhoon had stronger rains.

Yes, that's what I am going to tell Ingrid also. Moringas are easy to plant as my neighbor says. It's a very healthy vegetable, so it's good that you still have one tree of moringa left.

@ridingbet good thing it did not fall on the cemented fence. We did not felt it much here just in the early mornings but the power was out for 12 hours in our area. Unlike in typhoon Haiyan, we really felt it here.

Hurricane Sandy took away our apple tree in 2012. I would hate to lose a Moringa tree if I had one. Luckily you have another.

yes that is true. this moringa tree was an appendage of the big moringa tree near my sister's room. nobody dug the soil to plant it, that is why the roots are not so deep.

We had several uprooted trees in this area last Monday, we had a powerful storm. Nothing wrong in our garden.

@ridingbet The government takes care to remove the uprooted trees. Those that were uprooted last Monday have all already been removed.

@LadyDuck that is nice. here, they do it in priority. the garbage in front of our gate was just collected after 4 days, if not for the local official who is our neighbor, who saw the trash nearly covering half of the road already.

does your local government remove the uprooted trees within your area, or are they left alone?

Last year a big branch on a tree broke in half from strong winds and rain outside of our gated community. I hope the weather disturbance will exit in the island of Batanes, Ingrid.

just a few minutes ago, a very strong rain and winds came, we thought the latest typhoon is making its presence felt. now, the rain is gone, winds are also gone. Paeng is near Batanes now, and hopefully the weather will be good when my son and the rest of the students will be going to the far northern town,

We live surrounded by woods with many uprooted trees lying against one another. Many are old and blew over in a wind. We've lost plenty during storms, but are thankful none fell on the house.

@ridingbet I haven't seen any that flew either. They typically fall over, and many are uprooted due to shallow root structure.

yes, trees get uprooted in very strong typhoons. but here, i have not yet heard or saw news about uprooted trees that flew because of the severe winds blowing.

@DianneN our tree did not fall to the left side, so it spared our cemented fence. if not, there might have been closed pathway in that area.

the mango tree in front of our house is nearly bald as well, and the twigs and branches are all on the grounds though some are already collected by the garbage disposal trucks.

@ilocosboy many more typhons should not be named in future weather disturbances again.

Indeed typhoon Ompong is so cruel. His name will be ousted.

That is common in places hit by a strong typhoon whixh youn have experienced. The incoming typhoon is again a strong one buy it lioks like it would not hit us directly like the previous one.

thankfully, Paeng is now heading towards the farthest island of Batanes. Queenie is also in Mindanao skies.

I hope the incoming typhoon will dissipate in the sea. Let's pray for everyone's safety. It is said by PAGASA that we already have all in all, 16 typhoons already for this year. I hope there are no more coming typhoons after Paeng.

i think 16 more tyhpoons may visit our country before the year ends. while i had my bath several minutes ago, my sister listened to the weather news and she told me Paeng is located near Aparri, Cagayan, and hopefully, will go father and proceed to Taiwan. we are keeping our fingers crossed the typhoon will be gone.
