Day 33
Luke 9:10
Luke 9:10 And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.
11 And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spoke unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.
12 And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.
13 But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.
14 For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.
15 And they did so, and made them all sit down.
16 Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and break, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.
17 And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.
Have you been in the place where you looked in your cupboards and fridge for something to eat and there wasn’t much in there? It’s a hard place to find yourself. Yet, it happens across the globe. People don’t have enough to feed themselves and their children.
Jesus’ disciples came to Him, wanting Him to send the people away because they had been with him the entire day, and they were in a desert place without food. Instead, Jesus told His disciples to feed them.
Can you imagine the look of surprise on their faces when Jesus told his disciples to feed five thousand people?
As Christians, you know it takes faith when you look in your cupboard and there isn’t anything there.
Jesus didn’t ask His disciples to have faith. He told them to give them what they had. What they had were five loaves and two fish to feed five thousand men plus women and children. When the disciples gave Jesus what they had, Jesus multiplied it to feed everyone.
Have you seen God take the little you had and make it enough, and more than enough? When the people finished eating, the disciples took up twelve baskets of fragments. That’s a lot of leftovers from five loaves and two fish.
God multiplies, he doesn’t subtract. He adds to what you have, and divides it so everyone has enough.
People learned to make a little go a long way. Frugal is a term used a lot when it comes to making our substance enough for everyone. When you put your substance in God’s hands, He will multiply it and you will have enough and more.
Let’s pray: Father, help me trust You to make the little I have enough for my daily needs. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Frugality is one trait that each and everyone should have. In life, one has to be sure that we will have something that can sustain us when the time calls for it. Being frugal is a way to save some for those situations.
God provides , but we really have to work for it.

Being frugal is important. God provides in so many ways. When He does, we don't need to work for it. It's His blessing.
When He fed the 5000 plus women and children, Jesus told them to sit, He didn't tell them they had to work for it.
Have a blessed day.
