I was opening tabs to be here and some other places for a few moments this morning.
Sometimes there are hidden links that take you to scams. I am thinking of the ones that are hostage ware. They claim that your computer is infected. They say that they are from Microsoft, or Windows. You are told to call a number. . . yep, all scams. . . but almost impossible to shut down simply.
It used to be easier to shut them down, but I think they have gotten more sophisticated. I had to do a hard shut down. You know what, it is gone.
I am going to be gone, as well. Since I have the day off, hubby and I will go get our flu shots among other things.

Oh yes, I hate it when they pop up. Like you said, there's hardly anyway you can get it off anymore. Seems like after all these years of going on there would be something that could be done to catch the ones that is behind all the scams. I also have had to just shut computer down like you, I just could not even close my browser. The thing is then your afraid to get back on, because it might happen again!

Once I get it off it does not seem to come back. Of course I completely shut down and then reboot.

I do not seem to get the flu, just other stuff. Last year I even got pneumonia.

A lot of people say firewalls and security software. I still think I hit a hidden link. They are tricky.

Thank goodness I've avoided those screens for a while. Laundry is keeping me hopping this morning...when I hang the next load, it will be time to go and vote....
