delayedEXHAUSTION

It seems my exhaustion right after the typhoon is taking its toll now. When there was no electricity, water supply was scarce, the generator was operating in the afternoons because premium gasoline was so costly that we had to light candles most of the time, and cooking meals for lunch should include supper as well, I felt so strong like a wonder woman. I would still wake up early to boil water for breakfast. Now that we have electricity, water supply is good and the Internet is back, and our surroundings are clean, I really want to sit down and interact with you again. But I am having this exhaustion; a delayed exhaustion actually. Tomorrow is duty day; Friday, my son is leaving with 4 of his colleagues and 15 students where the 5 teachers will coach them for a literary competition in the town far north where this new typhoon is expected to make its landfall. How does exhaustion manifest itself? My knees shake, I need to hold on to something when I carry a heavy load, I pant, I unintentionally doze off. Exhausted, really! Have you ever felt some delayed exhaustion too?

You are such a strong brave lady. I admire you and yes naturally exhaustion will hit after such an experience. Yes I have. Here where I live at this time, I have been going thru some terrible happenings and now that I know I will be able to move, I am exhausted.

thank you. i have to be a strong person because we have to have somebody here who does not show pessimism at all. emotional exhaustion though, is worse than physical exhaustion.

@ridingbet I agree. I have this same dilemma here. It is someone who does not see any light you know what I mean. It is dang exhausting!! Always having to steer the ship in choppy seas.

Take it slowly and one at a time for those chores my friend. You don't have to exhaust yourself too much, because you have heart condition. Please take care not to be that exhausted. It's bad for your heart.

thank you, my lady. i really felt so strong during typhoon aftermath, but now that we have the electricity, phone lines, water supply, and internet back, i felt my exhaustion hyperactive. hahaha. i always have to consider my heart, that it should not beat fast, strong, and normal rhythm.

i am fine now. the adrenaline rush for me is during emergency situations only, the 'fight or flight' notion. but the exhaustion is due to the chores i did during those times we had blackout, scarce water supply, and no communication to the outside world.

You have to try to rest now @ridingbet, it was much you were coping with. I hope the new typhoon will not make landfall. I have felt delayed exhaustion. Try to rest and I hope you feel stronger soon.

Well I think that is the next thing to happen when you are given adrenaline rush during those days that needed extra boost to perform in midst of an emergency situation then when it calms down the slow down the adrenaline flow then you experience exhaustion because the body is so used to the rush and now is looking for that rush but its not there anymore. The best thing to do is to allow your body to adjust to the normal by resting.

This may also be anxiety as U think of the fear U felt during a typhoon!! Try 2 do some things 4 exhaustion to ease the stress, something light and take it a little easier or a nice nap after a cup of tea!!!

i usually doze off when i watch TV. it somehow reinvigorates me, but more often than not, my exhaustion is present when i have some discussions with my one and only loving sister.

Sometimes. I feel it when I watching something online or even with myLot, I feel the need to stop and I feel so tired that sometimes I just bow down my head and rest.

oh yes, hija. me too. when i watch a suspense, super-action movie or series, i feel tired with my heart pounding fast, because my emotions are also with the series/movies i watch.

You need to take a lot of rest, ingrid. Maybe you need to take a leave and go somewhere nice and peaceful to unwind.
