Ticket Dilemma at Madison Square Garden

On Sunday, I went to a Russian concert at Madison Square Garden. I bought the tickets for the concert back in April. A few days before the concert I accidentally found out on Facebook that the concert was moved from the big arena to the smaller theater inside MSG. They said it was due to "technical difficulties" but I think the real reason was that it didn't sell out. The smaller theater pretty much had no empty seats during the concert. The tickets I had bought in April were no good and I had to get replacement tickets. I was told that I had to go to the venue for the switch because I had purchased the tickets at the venue. When they gave me my new tickets I felt that they were too far based on where I was sitting at the main arena. They would not give me closer seats, even though I told them there were closer seats available for the same price. Instead, they gave me a refund and I had to purchase a brand new pair of tickets. They turned out to be in the same section as the replacement tickets were, which I didn't like as it was not in the center, but at least I was sitting three rows closer. And to my luck, my relatives who also went to the concert were sitting in the row before mine, so we got to chat a bit. I've been to MSG many times for concerts and this has never happened to me... I never had to get replacement tickets or get a refund and buy new ones. Glad I had the courage to go back and complain that my replacement tickets were too far, otherwise I'd be sitting further back. I was proud of myself for that.
