Midnight Raid

Last night, I was just drifting off to sleep when a strange noise jerked me away from dreamland. I kept hearing more noises and knew I had to investigate. Visions of a raccoon or a rat in the bathroom were "oh no" moments.
Timidly, I peeked into the bathroom and turned on the light. There was the culprit, a tiny leopard lizard about an inch long. bashing into things, totally panicked.
It was I was able to catch it in my hand and close my fingers around it. I carried it outside and let it go so it could hide, go home, or squeal at the moon, whatever lizards do at night.
When I let go, it clung to my hand and I shook it off. All night, I worried about whether it landed right side up or upside down. Can a lizard flip itself over? I looked at the crack of dawn and could not find it.
Have you ever had a midnight raider at your house?

Lizards flips easily, your little lizard surely ran away hiding somewhere. I had a cat as midnight raider one evening. I suppose he was on our balcony, I went out to look at the moon and did not notice that he came inside. I heard loud noises downstairs after I was in bed and I have to say that the kitty scared me a lot.

@LadyDuckThat is another reason that I hesitate to bring a cat in. I don't like wall climbing or ripping up the furniture.

Please do not tell this story to Kai. She has lizard brain right now. Apparently we were raided also and the lizard hid under the dishwasher and Kai still smells it and randomly attacks the dishwasher in search of the invader that is long gone.
I told my sister I do not know why she acts like that when she sees or hears a lizard, if she caught it, she would just lick it in the face. I think it is because they are so quick it makes her insane because she can't catch them.

@crossbones27 I know that feeling about technology. She must keep raiders out of your place.

I DO NOT touch anything like that, since being a grown up. I feel they maybe have some type of germ. I will use a spoon and push them into a jar, then release them outside.
For the record I never flung one so I have no idea BUT I have thumped stink bugs and they land on their feet blowing a stink in the air that will gag you.

They can flip over. So don't worry. Good that it was gone.

@akalinus I find them creepy if inside house. I love to watch them from a distance if they are outdoors.

@arunima25 I don't mind them coming in and out but this one made a lot of noise bashing into things. It was in a panic and did not know what to do.

Most probably it has made itself to safety the moment you released her outside. I think that she is much more grateful that you released her and not harm her like trying to kill it rather then catching her and releasing her out. I think he accidentally got stuck in your bathroom and has no intention of raiding your bathroom.

The only raider I have is Lily my cat that I have seen. I could have had a mouse somewhere in the house.

Is he contributing to the fridge?
