The 4th is an important date to me...

My husband and I met on April 4th, 2014. We got engaged on October 4th, 2015. I wanted to get married on the 4th as well, to keep everything on the 4th but the only days in 2016 where the 4th fell on a Sunday - June, September, December - were no good for me.
June is a hot month and I can't stand the heat so that date was no good for me. September is his parents' anniversary and I did not want to share that date. And December is a cold month and there is possibility of snow and bad weather, so that was out, especially since the wedding was in another state. I wouldn't mind the cold but others would. Plus, I thought of maybe having the ceremony outdoors and in December that was definitely out of the question.
I did not want to wait until 2017 to get married, so I had to settle for a different date and chose November 6th. I was a bit bummed that I didn't get the 4th but the 6th is close enough to the 4th that I let it slide. Though I still did not get my outdoor ceremony, as everyone thought it was a bit cold for it. It was perfect for me.
However, November 6th actually turned out to be the date of the NYC Marathon. I had no idea this was going to happen on my wedding day or I'd have chosen a different date because during the marathon the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge is closed first part of the day. The use of this bridge was needed so the photo/video people could get to my house and my parents' house for pictures and video, and the florist, band and rabbi could get to the venue where I was getting married. Plus, many guests needed to use this bridge to get to the venue. I was worried they wouldn't be able to make it and that my wedding (day) would be screwed up. But somehow it all came together and each vendor found a way to get to where they had to be. And the guests all got to my wedding with no problem.
When you were getting married did you have a specific date in mind you wanted to have the wedding and why did you choose it?

Why did you have to get married on a Sunday?
