Too bad the washer can't load the clothes by itself

I have a lot of stuff to wash and I have yet to get it done. Sure I have a washing machine, so don't have to do it by hand, which is a good thing. But even with that, the laundry won't get washed unless I load up that washer. That's something am not in the mood to do. Or maybe I am just lazy to do it. Either way, it has to be done soon or hubby will run out of clean underwear. And pretty soon I won't have any clean underwear either.

Some days it's like this. I am short, so getting the wet laundry out to hand is a bit of a tricky thing for me. But it's got to be done for we all need clean clothes.

I remember when we were dating, my husband, who lived alone at the time, would collect a full huge laundry bag of dirty clothes and then give it to the laundromat to wash and dry for him. I wonder how much it cost him? Probably more than doing it himself.

@lovebuglena we now have a lot of laundromats here, too. some pay extra to let the staff do everything, then they just pick it up folded and packed.

@hereandthere That's good. We have a laundry room at our apt. home and we all got keys to access it, but it's do your own everything.

After watching my Mum wash for five people by hand there is no way I'd complain about loading a washing machine!

true. there are people here who still wash by hand. they say they finish faster and the results are cleaner. it's a sharp contrast to the single tub automatic where, after the complete cycle, you get the hangers ready then take them out to dry (sun or wind).

@hereandthere Would they still wash by hand if they had five sets of sheets, towels and clothes and dirty farm clothes at that? I wouldn't trade my machine for anything.

@JudyEv oh, we use the machine, too. some who wash by hand compromise by taking the big/heavy stuff to the laundromat.

Do it - just do it! I totally know the feeling. Just do one load of the essentials - and do another load tomorrow. I know once I actually get it in the washer, I will definitely get it in the drier straight after. Oh, but folding and putting away is another thing .

I just loaded up a machine with pjs/nightgowns, underwear, bras and some t-shirts, just so the machine is not too empty. Progress for me. But as I was loading the machine I shook my head and told myself I should have done it earlier... And I should have. Damn, I hate it when I have to do something but I am in no mood to do it...

@lovebuglena ahh yeah that makes sense... hmmmm... have a hamper of different kinds for example a hamper for whites or light colored and hamper for dark colored clothes.

But not everything can be washed together, so then you'd have to take stuff out anyway to sort...
