Today we're going to get away from the beaten path of war and rumors of war. Today's history is literary, out of this world, set in stone, and entertaining.
First, is the English translation of the Bible by Myles Coverdale in 1535, known as the Coverdale Bible. Myles Coverdale was a biblical scholar and translator, conversant in Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic. He also used Tyndale's translation of some of the work particularly the book of Jonah and the Pentateuch.
Mount Rushmore came into existence in 1927 when Danish-American sculptor, Gutzon Borglum along with 400 workers began carving the four presidential heads, representing George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Franklin Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. The carving is 60 feet tall and seen by millions of visitors each year.
Did you know this week is Space Week? I didn't either. It must be because on this day in 1957 the Russians beat the Americans into space by launching Sputnik into orbit three months before the Americans made their first launch. I'm sure they aren't about to let us forget they were first in space, though we were first on the moon.
Last on this day in history comes a sitcom watched by many faithful viewers every week for ten years. In 1990 the TV show, 90210 made its debut in our living rooms. Well, yours, not mine. I never did watch it.
And there you have what happened on this day in history. All fascinating stuff. Thanks for reading.

October 4 for me is memorable. why? it is because October 4 last year was the start of my making discussions using one word-title only. now, i am on 3-word titles. i had 2-word titles for 6 months since April 4.

I used to love watching 90210. I didn't see the remake they did. I never been to Mount Rushmore. I have seen shows about a secret room that was built into it.
