Beyond the Face

I see a little robot like face staring back at me, but I know that its not real. It just has the familiar traits that give this inanimate piece of ... something... a "face" of sorts.
There is no way that it can speak but I still get the sense that it wants to say something to me. Or at least a whisper. But it's stoic expression is all it has to voice with.
It's always been interesting to me as to how we as humans like to give human attributes to anything that we see. Do we do that as a way to make something relateable? Does it make it more approachable? Personable? Understandable? Is this the reason as to why most robots are made to resemble human form- arms, legs, torso, head with facial features.
Why do we do it? It won't talk back to us. It won't fetch us a beer or loan us money. It's just an inanimate object. But yet, humans nature of curiosity and imaginative tendencies is what gives it "life".
What do you see?
BTW- Would this qualify as a form of "industrial photography"?

Its called pareidolia. (pear-uh-dough-lee-uh) We do it from birth. Faces in the swirls of a paneled wall, in the designs on the curtains, etc. This is where you get a lot of your "ghost pics" from.

I have to look really hard to see anything in this picture other than what it is. I have lost my imagination ... ! *sigh*

I know what you're saying. People dressing dogs up as humans is another form of this trait. And often things have an upturned or downturned 'mouth' that makes them look like they're smiling - or not. Like the grilles on some cars.

When I was little, someone asked me if I could see the man in the moon. I told them I could see a side view of Abraham Lincoln sitting at a table, playing chess with another person.
