How Long Should I Stretch Before A Workout?

They say that if you lift weights, you should stretch your muscles first. That way you'll develop long, good looking muscles. If you don't stretch before lifting weights, you'll develop what bodybuilders call short, clumsy looking muscles. My question is this: how long should I stretch before lifting weights each time? And should I stretch after a workout as well?

I roll out with a foam roller before working out. I spend about 10 minutes doing it. We do some warm up exercises and stretches as a group too. I never stretch afterward though. I'm always in a rush to get home since I have a 25-30 minute drive home and I need to get dinner started. During the week I get home from the gym at 6:30 pm and then I start dinner. No time to linger for stretching!
