Day 57 Luke 13:18 Luke 13:18 Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? And whereunto shall I resemble it? 19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it. 20 And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God? 21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. Have you ever wondered what a place you’ve never visited is like? We put places we want to visit on our bucket lists and hope to visit in our lifetime. Jesus told the disciples what heaven was like, not because they asked, but because it was something people thought about and hoped to see one day. As Christians, you long to see your heavenly home and want to know what to expect when you get there. Jesus gave us a thumbprint of heaven. It is small enough for us to think about and large enough for us to live there. As you read Scripture, you see many glimpses of heaven. Ezekiel and Revelation give a description of it. With the dimensions described in both books, you know there is enough room in heaven for everyone whoever lived, from the time God created Adam until the last person is born before Jesus returns for his bride, his church. John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (KJV) The kingdom of God is for everyone. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for giving me a glimpse of what heaven is like. Help me live here as I wait for the day when you will call me home, and I will see heaven and it will no longer be a mysterious place. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. I don't think we can ever truly imagine what it is going to be like but it sure is nice when we think about it.
