Will his hair take the exam?

A High School student, a friend of mine bursts his emotion on how the security guard from his school denied him to enter the school premises during their examination day. He said the reason is that because of his long hair. “What his long hair problem with education?” He said. I think he has a big point what’s really the connection of having a long hair to be denied to enter the school. Will his hair take the exam? Does your school have this kind of rule?

That sounds unusual and ridiculous. In India they might scan your hair if you have some chits hidden there for cheating. They do scan shoes and socks before entering exam Hall

@simplfred I don't feel that it is welcoming to force someone to cut their hair. Some teenagers can be very sensitive about their style.

Yeah, I think so too, sometimes they will let you in but one must allow the guard to cut your hair deep... The rule is for the boys only.

Except when his late and the regulation of not entry when late is implemented. Even so there must be some considerations regarding entering school.
I have long hair, almost at my waist, its good no one is stopping me enter schools and establishments.

That guard should be out of the school, no considerations at all.

@ilocosboy I think the Principal is the one giving orders on them.

No, the reason is really his hair. The guard said you must have a haircut first to him.

As far as I can remember I don`t experienced something like that. It`s a physical discrimination and Security guard don`t have the right to judge a student

If he has been a student there all along, there should be no problem! But in Japan a lot of schools have very strict rules about every day. For example, you can't dye or perm your hair, and if you are unfortunate enough to have naturally curly hair you have to carry a certificate stating that.

Why would he do that on examination day when all the while you have long hair in going to school in the first place. It should be the principal who should prohibit you if ever, not him. Unless, he has a written memo about it.
Besides if that is the case then it should have been circulated to the students a week before the examination period, so you could have it cut to be able to take the exams.

I've not heard of a school that is not a military or strict religious school having a rule about boys' hair length. If the same rule is not applied to girls with long hair then it is definitely a discriminatory rule and should be eliminated.

Some schools here dont let them use wild colors in there hair, like dying it pink. But the length dont matter.

I remember middle school. In the past, one of my teachers cut my hair on the front fence of the school. The reason is that my hair looks long. I am a student from the education department. Most schools apply these rules to shape the character of students so that they are disciplined and neat to school. Maybe, students have different experiences.
