**Rant** Everytime I go to spend time Starbucks with my tablet. I always try to find a corner or wall to sit against. One reason is so I know what's in front of me and the other reason, the main reason, is that I hate it when I can see the reflection of people on my screen looking over my shoulder to see what it is im doing or viewing on my tablet. I can see their curious gaze on my screen as they walk by and the eyes wander to the side to take a quick glance at what i'm watching. A lot of times just the passing by of the shadows of people is enough to bother me. Even with my headphones on I sometimes get a tap on my shoulder and the person will ask me a question about what im seeing. "Is that happening now?" "Where is it at?" "Is the show any good?" The worse is when they try to start a conversation with me and go about it as if I personally know them. "Oh! Wait till you see the end! It's a great twist!" "Have you ever been there? I have and it's great!" "Did you vote for him?" I just answer them with a short and to the point answer. Hoping that they will get the idea that im not much of a conversationist and move on about their day. It usually works. I don't mean to come off as a douch# but when i'm there alone, I just want to be left alone. It's my get away from home so let me get away. I mind my own business, mind yours. Unless the place is on fire, natural disaster occuring or starbucks ran out of coffee, don't bother me. Photograph- Taken/Owned by me, Plethos

Maybe Starbucks can offer "Do not disturb" signs to be place on your table?

ive actually considered buying a do not disturb sign and just hang it down the back of the chair. or just wrap police tape around my area.

@Plethos _I like the police tape idea. but modify the sign to "Possible crime scene if you enter".

it'd have to be damn interesting for me to ask somebody what they're watching.

People seem to think that when they see someone sitting alone in a restaurant or cafe that they really just want someone to talk to. Some just don't get it. Soooo, were ya watchin??

I cannot imagine how well I understand you. Sometimes we go into a small cafe with my husband to have breakfast. We want to be left alone, if we like, we discuss between us. Two weeks ago an aged woman asked if she could sit at the tale near us... okay, then she asked if we lived in the village... then if we liked... then from how long we lived there... then my husband said "we are here to have a quiet breakfast, if you need to chat, find another table".

@Plethos If I only could have an "invisible cape" to wear, I would be happy.

sometimes we just want to disappear, but people would still find a way to spot us.

That's interesting. When I go to coffee sometimes, like you, I want to be left alone, and sometimes, I want to be social. When I want to be social no one bothers me lol

Funny, nothing like that has ever happened to me at Shucks but then I am not usually watching videos..or maybe I am just unapproachable.

I agree that a Do not Disturb sign or a Please don't bother me sign might be good. What about a seat right in a corner with your back to the wall so no one has to walk past you or can lean over to see what you are doing.
