If you ever visit the capital of the U.S. Washington D.C. you might enjoy staying at a luxury hotel called Hay-Adams which offers an additional surprise – a ghost.
This hotel has had such well-known guest as Amelia Earhart and Charles Lindbergh. Even though the spookiest month of the year is thought to be October the ghost at this hotel appears in December. It is a sad tale about the wife of the original owner to this property.
Her name was Clovis Adams and she has chosen to haunt two floors of the Hay-Adams. She was not a happy woman and took her own life by ingesting the chemicals she used in her photography. It was thought that her husband had a mistress and that this caused her to make this choice. However, there was also the thought that she might have been murdered.
One way of another Clovis enjoys being among the living and she goes about opening doors, turning things on and off and at times has been heard crying out. The housekeepers have felt phantom hugs from the spirit as they go about their duties. So if you would like to see for yourself just spend a night one December at this hotel make sure you are on one of the floors Clovis likes best.
Has anyone been to this hotel before?
