Trying Hard

Today marks one week since little Kuma went to sleep forever. It’s been a tough week, to say the least, but we’ve been trying hard to get back in the swing of things. Yesterday, my best friend picked me up and off we went for lunch and wine at our favorite Italian restaurant. We were flattered by an older gentleman who stopped by our table to tell us a couple of jokes, not once, but twice. Our waiter was a bit concerned when the harmless gentleman put his arms around me. For the record, I will not sue! If that wasn’t enough, we saw a wonderful and oddly interesting play at the regional theater where my daughter-in-law is Director of Education. She got us the free tickets.

. She was busy interviewing the final two candidates for the artistic director. The former was fired for years of sexual harassment. And today I had the mani/pedi I had to cancel last Thursday.

I know the pain that you are enduring there.We have lost two over the years.The first one it broke my heart. Took me some time to get over this.even today Meeno will always be on my mind along with Buffy.

Losing a pet is like losing a family member. It really hurts, for a long time. I'm glad you got to have lunch with your friend:) I'd love to go see a play, it sounds like fun

They are family members, and boy, does it ever hurt. Thanks! We had a lovely day and both of us love plays. We are going for massages and lunch in a couple of weeks.

I think you getting to see the show and getting the Mani/pedi was a great idea after being sad last week. Its nice the gentleman at the restaurant was so friendly and I'm glad you didn't get upset over it like the waiter worried about.

It helps to get out and do things when you are grieving. It took me several months to get over the overwhelming pain of losing my dog. I still grieve, I think you always miss them but it gets easier.

It’s been good getting out of the house and back to normal routines. I’m certain our son will be here shortly. He comes for a visit every day and we do likewise.

@CarolDM The cats belong/belonged to our son. They were staying with us until he settled into his new house. He is devastated and came over before. He must be healing, because today he finally visited Kuma's resting place.
