Long life milk

I usually get regular milk that is pasteurised and I book again before I use. Even in the refrigerator after this, it has a life of about 24 hours. I've seen long life milk that'll lasts 3 months or more in the packaging and can be used without boiling. This isn't the natural milk life. Is it safe and what do they add?

I would not use it if it can last that long. Would not trust what they put in it.

There's nothing in the pack to indicate how it stays that log other than being sterile and vacuum packed.

@wolfgirl569 it says to use it 48 hours after opening. So it may be something similar.

@pitstop Has it been processed similar to canning? Then it could last longer. I know how to can my own milk when I have a milk goat. That means when she is dry I still have fresh milk. That would be the only way I would trust it, and once opened it would then have the same shelf life as any other milk product.

I've not heard of this milk that will last 3 months. I cannot imagine what they add but it is probably not good for you. As a point of knowledge, most dairy products are safe to use up to 7 days past the sell by date on the package.

The milk we get is fresh and pasteurised. So it lasts very short while.
