Be careful on this scam from P C H

I was almost taken to the cleaners by the company that poses to be working for Publishing Clearing House via Twitter.
The site that claims to be from the P C H claimed that I won a prize of $100,000 which sounded fishy since the P C H would have sent me an email claiming that I won something.
The catch that I could smell it was a scam since when I was supposed to claim the prize money, I had to transfer $300 dollars to "collect" the prize.
When I looked up if it was true on the Ask.com, it told me that it is illegal for any company to charge me any fees to collect the so called prize.
The same thing Facebook tried to do with me by having me pay a prize using the image of someone who claimed to work for the company that I fired in January 2017.
Please be careful with these sweeptakes companies offering you a huge payout, they have no right to claim a fee.

@ilocosboy It is a shame that the dream of riches ends in poverty.

They must succeed occasionally with some people or they would not keep on doing it. I am glad you are careful and thanks for warning us.

These scammers try anything and have no heart. I wish there would be a serious clamp down on them. Never ever pay money out to get a prize or ring up to get it or do any thing where you have to give bank details. Instead, report it to the police.

Thanks for the warning. Here in Florida, even better scams are happening. My friend who lives below me showed me a letter and a check for $1,900 and some odd dollars. Looks like a legitimate check now we get to the story. She called up the darn company wondering about the check. Apparently, they say deposited the money in your bank then send them payment for such and such amount and in the end she would get $250 as a reward for doing all this. SAY WHAT??? How do these idiots come up with these things and how do the get away with it. Of course, she understands all this is a scam and is not about to wind up having a bounced check and having to pay the bank for anything

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
