Breakfast Buffet

After my consultation with the Physiotherapist we had breakfast at a 5 star hotel which is close to this hospital. . The fare was mouthwatering. I had breakfast at home but being so close to a 5 star hotel the temptation to get there was irresistible. The ambiance was great too. We sat a table overlooking the well appointed garden. Egg omelettes were being fried as also masala dosas then and there but I went in for lighter items - dahi wada, French Toast, fruit, carrot halwa and a cup of tea. Talking about breakfast buffets it took me to buffet spreads in those hotels where we were put up during our package holidays. The spread was so large that one would have been more comfortable wearing skates too check all those items. But how much can one eat? Sad indeed (lol) Strengthening my abdominal muscles through physiotherapy did not warrant for me to go on a diet. That was comforting.

I think buffets encourage gluttony. I much prefer just toast and marmalade and perhaps a yoghurt or a piece of fruit.

I think if it is a once in a way gluttony all is well

@garymarsh6 When I was working I used to settle only for porridge but now that I am at home we do have a regular breakfast

@allknowing I know my daughter likes buffet meals but I much prefer to order just what I need. At one time I never used to eat breakfast but I religiously have porridge every day before I go to work.

I wish I had a big appetite. That is the problem with me when I am at a buffet table.

When I was young I liked to try a little bit of everything. Now I eat so little that I prefer to avoid buffets.

@allknowing No, not at all, because you are tempted to try and you end up with stomach ache.

I'm sure you had a fabulous time. I avoid buffets unless I am traveling and they are included in the package. I prefer to sit and be waited on. lol

Oh those hotel breakfasts. I know I get one in December and I am already looking forward to it. I hope it will be as good as the one I had recently. It is great you are not required to diet because as you say, it is hard to know where to stop with a buffet if the buffet breakfast is a good one.

I love buffet breakfast at a hotel. It's not only all the food to choose from, but also that I don't have to prepare it and then wash the dishes

Neither do I. This was after a long long time. You are right about not doing justice to buffets if one is not a big eater.

I like to savor what catches my eyes and then go for a second helping of those that are too irresistible! We only live once with due apologies to those who think otherwise - siva
