Replacing textbooks with tablets.

The government in my country has put in place a strategy where schools are being supplied with tablets instead of textbooks for reading. This is a good move as textbooks are so heavy to carry around and most people do not afford lockers. I don't see any demerits of doing this, as long as parents and teachers ensure that the tablets are being used for studies and not to play games. What is your opinion on this?

Yeah, but the good thing is that the government is the one providing the tablets.

I think that it is easier to use a tablet instead of a lot of heavy books. It is a good thing that the students don't have to pay for the tablets. In my country some schools use laptops instead of textbooks, but the students have to pay for the laptops. That is a problem if the students can't afford it.
