the GAG reflex

Since I have been having this nagging dry cough due to allergy to sudden change of weather, my appetite is not getting better. I am having sleepless nights due to constant coughing. Having slight fever also adds to the discomfort.
I have to brush my tongue so I can taste the food, to the point of challenging my gag reflex until I feel like vomiting. Gurgling with Bactidol or Listerine is what I also do after the tongue - brushing.
Do you vomit outright once you stimulate your gag reflex?

having this dry and nagging cough has reduced my appetite. i sometimes even sip on vinegar to resume the taste buds. last night, i had a spicy viand again but i did not consume my cup of rice.

@ridingbet Oh no Ingrid I am very concerned about this. I hope it is nothing too serious. Will you find out what by another doctor?

My client had been coughing for about 3 weeks she can't seem to shake it, she had been to the doctor twice with no relief.

@ridingbet I've discovered that by sipping a bit of water first and not taking all my pills at once, my gagging is limited.
Glad you are getting better. I like medium spicy and lightly salted. I will eat sweets at times, but I don't have a sweet tooth.

maybe if the tablets are taken at an interval of 3-5 minutes in between, our gag reflex will be fine.
as of now, my taste buds are getting better though i prefer the extreme tastes of food like super spicy, super sweet, but not super salty.

@DianneN i had sweet tooth but now, i am not taking in much of the sweets. i even share my chocolate to my son. i am on self-imposed low salt, low fat, less sugar, high protein and low carbohydrate diet. hahaha

because i want to reach the farthest, the gag reflex is almost always done, but i would not like to vomit out what i have just eaten.

that is one discomfort that we sick people have, hija. we want to have good appetite that we have to stimulate our gag reflex to clean our tongue

right on that. me as well, i want to reach the farthest of my tongue, that one reaching the uvula. that is where the gag is most active.
