Pretty Maids All In A Row

Only instead of maids they are broccoli plants.
Filled with health benefits these veggies are a comparitive new comer to our part of the world.
They were a novelty about 8 years ago but are now being grown locally
A friend who has taken to farming since last year keeps sending me photos of what's growing out there.
It's a relaxing break to be able to go there and unwind after the chaos of a city life.Of course it is pretty hard work for them to be able to break even.
Only organic manure is used for the vegetables
grown there, this makes it costlier. But they are tastier and healthier.People are slowly beginning to realize this and willing to pay more

I agree too but it's the price that makes people opt for the other kind.
There is indiscriminate use of pesticide and the
commercial growers themselves have a patch for their own use where they use organic manure

I have asked a few of my friends how much they spend on medications @responsiveme they were shocked when I told them I do not take any medications because I do not need them. Some of them would rather pay more for food instead of paying so much for medications.

@rebelann very true...Exercise that is being active and nutrition is the key.
Am so glad you don't take medications.
We have an immense stock of herbs which have medicinal values but people reach for the pill instead

@responsiveme I have been inspecting my garlic plants and am very pleased with progress. I too only use organic fertiliser and am looking forward to planting spinach, beetroot and other vegetables in the spring.

Same here, it was not around when I was growing up either.

Inorganic in certain amount is OK as I hear but people tend to overuse chemicals to let the crops grow faster and not be eaten by bugs

Oooh, that is very lovely. I really like broccoli and prefer organic as most should, but things can get pretty expensive, unfortunately.

The price is certainly higher...So it makes good sense to grow some if only herbs in pots if there is no garden.
