i dare to say that library, in indonesia, my country is just another graveyard. no noise no crowd because no visitor, very rarely it has good visitor. in indonesian we can divide two kinds of library . first public library which run by government (mostly local government). they almost have no visitor, because most the books are so old. our government is lack of awareness in literacy and the bulding design is very old fashion, very grey. second, school/college library. they are in better condition, because they have good amount of visitors. mostly students visit them for researching or doing their exercise or project. but rarely people go to library read books out of their subject to increase their knowledge.

There are a lot of libraries here, but I'm not sure how many people go to them. I'm not the first one. I like to read and if a book is like me, I buy it.

@nawala123 Yes, that's right. But I live in the village, so I would have to go to the city to the library, and that would cost me.

I love libraries for I love to read in silence and noises tend to distract me a lot. So library is one place where I can study with peace.

We have two kinds of libraries here. The public libraries have both fiction and non-fiction. The university libraries only have non-fiction. The university libraries are not just for the students, anyone can borrow the books. I sometimes visit them.

@nawala123 Are the university libraries in Indonesia only for students? Here they are public libraries, but the type of books they have are different from the books your find in the other libraries.

@Porcospino yes, for non students, we have to pay for limited membership, usually for one month only

Our libraries seem to have less and less books and more and more technology based stuff.

Reading books is getting out of fashion. Though some people still read books and 'd love to visit a library anywhere.
