Eli Received Some Gifts...

From somebody in the community that donated them to his school. There is an adopt a family for Christmas program that the school is a part of and they asked if Eli was needing anything.
We said he could always use clothes, a hat, gloves, and things like that.
What was really cool is they wrapped everything in cute Christmas wrapping paper. I had Eli open the packages because I thought they were giving him a coat so I wanted him to have that since it's getting really cold here (but there was no coat).
What was really cool is they included a toy with the other items. I was not expecting that at all-- and Eli LOVES trains! So it was the perfect gift...had I known there was a toy I would have put that one under the tree for him.
Does your community do anything like that?

That is so sweet, and I think they do but I really don't know much of all the stuff they do around here as I'm still getting broke in.

It was very sweet -- just wish I knew who did it so we could thank them....Eli of course didn't like getting clothes, but was so happy with the train set.
That's good that your community does something but I understand knowing much of what they do--I'd have no clue if my son didn't go to Head Start.

I imagine some around here do that too, might even have been who donated to his school. He's always wanted a train set, so was so surprised when that was one of the gifts.

the schools here use to help families out at Christmas time, by signing them up for a dinner at some place that had face painting, santa (And photos with him) plus big santa sacks full of presents for the kids of the house, along with a tin of cookies for the parents. My mom was signed up for it, probably 3 years in a row when i was growing up.
I have no idea if the schools still do stuff like that here though, or if they just do simpler things like just getting a few gifts like your sons school did. Either way, its great people help out others during Christmas time.

That's very cool that they used to do that....that is a wonderful way to help families out as well...and very fun for the kids! Any bit of help around Christmas time is so nice, especially for those that need the help.

It was, I was so surprised they were wrapped up like presents! That would definitely be good if something like that happened there!
