we Indonesia have BATIK, our traditional technique for making cloth with certain pattern and now is acknowledged by UNESCO as intangible world heritage. malaysia, our neighbor also claims it in case some malaysian also javanase. but i think indonesia has more right to claim it, in case it comes from java island, even having some chinese influenced since we had long history with china.in the midieaval age. "batik" is like blood in our body. all indonesia have batik dress for formal occasions, and now for informal too. the pictur above is bill gate when in indonesia, he wore batik too by side my ex president mr soesilo bambang yudhoyono. many international figure wear batik to respect Indonesian tradition.

It's nice when visitors respect local customs. In Nepal Vince sometimes wore a Nepalese hat.

I like batik dress too! We have our own "barong tagalog" or polo or dress woven out of pineapple or abaca fibers.
