Saddened and Pissed Off

I am very sad and pissed off at the same time while I write this. This post comes only about 6 hours after another one of my cats has died. Her name was Gizmo and she was only 7 and 1/2 years old. She was the daughter of the cat I had to put to sleep in August. Her picture is attached to this post. I am very saddened to have lost another cat so soon after losing the first and to the same cause. Both cats died after getting a hold of a prescription pill. An adult in my household is not careful with his prescriptions and if he drops one in the kitchen, he doesn't say anything. One of the pills he drops is a blood pressure pill and when confronted (and SHOWN pills I have collected after he dropped them), he denies that that is the cause of the two cats dying. But I have printouts from the vets showing what was in their systems and at what levels. I wish I wasn't stuck living where I am. I don't make enough money to live on my own and have a car so I guess I will just keep saving up and keep my eyes open for any jobs I can do while my daughter is in school. I may ask my sister if I can convert her garage into an apartment for me, my daughter and our cats. I'm sure as long as I pay for the electric we use and pay a little something for rent, she would be fine with it. Not sure where my mom's dog will go but I don't think it would be too hard to rehome him. RIP Gizmo. June 2011 - November 2018

@CountryGirl31 I am so so sorry about your losses. Do you think because of that person you cats are dying?

Yes, I have proof from the vet that the cats got ahold of an adult's blood pressure med. She told me that any blood pressure pill WILL kill a cat because it causes their body to shut down. When confronted with the evidence, this person said that it had to be something else. "Maybe they got into some antifreeze." But the thing is I asked the vet if that could have caused it and she said she tested for antifreeze and it came back negative.

@CountryGirl31 So does the vet have any idea about what is going on?

@Hannihar The vet said it looked like they had gotten ahold of something. There was something in their system that they couldn't identify because it wasn't something they usually test for like antifreeze. And they don't test for prescribed medications or anything like that so they said that what they found in their systems could have been a pill someone dropped at the house. There is only one person at my house that takes prescription pills and drops them.

She was actually my mom's cat and hated me when my mom lived here but when my mom moved out and left her behind, she became my cat. The picture with this post is Gizmo sitting in a pan she had just licked clean. One of her favorite things to eat was Stroganoff Hamburger Helper.
