I thought they would at least wait until the season ended, but the news feed across my computer just now showed the Green Bay Packers fired Coach Mike McCarthy. They've named Joe Philbin as interim coach.
It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out.
When I talked to my friend at the pool last week, he said it's uncommon for a coach to stay with a team more than five years and Mike McCarthy has been the coach for, I think he said, eleven years. A long time.
I'm going to get back to editing. I just thought I would share that bit of news. Thanks for reading.

McCarthy had a good run in Green Bay. No coach today is immune to being fired. He won't be unemployed for long.

@dgobucks226 Are they looking for a new coach? I don't know where he'll go, but I'm sure he's talking to someone or maybe waiting until the season is done.

Breaking news, but not so shocking. His firing has been tossed around for quite some time now. It was just a matter of time, and now seemed like the right time since the Pack can't get games won. Hell, even losing to the CARDINALS? AT HOME? Ugh.

I hope so. He won't be the permanent coach. Will need to see who they're courting for the next coach.

Not a surprise. Losing seasons are unacceptable in Green Bay.
