Do you like the photo of a Christmas table I am sharing with this discussion? This is what my holiday table looks like. NOT!
I remember our Christmas holiday meals, when I was growing up, not only because the food was great but because Thanksgiving and Christmas were the only two times of the year when my mother actually set out a spread of food ON A TABLE. During the rest of the year it was … You hungry? … Go into the kitchen and take up your own plate of food out of the pots.
I used to watch Sandra Lee's cooking show on cable TV. Ms. Lee is a popular TV chef and hostess diva darling on American television. This woman! Honestly! Every meal at her house is like a major event. On the show she not only shows you how to cook a meal but then she has to go all out telling you how to set the table and how your house should be decorated to fit the theme … and on and on. Then she says “Now if you'll excuse I have go change my clothes so I can greet my guests.”
I'm like: THEME?? Decorate my house?/? Change my clothes??? Good grief! I'm already worn out just from preparing the meal. LOL.
Total hostess diva I AM NOT!!

What about you?
Are you a diva-type hostess?
It's OK if you're a guy. Guys can be diva-types too!
I used to watch another cooking show where the guy prepared dinner wearing a tuxedo. Dude diva show off!

I'm definitely not a hostess diva. My table gets some decorations at Christmas, but not other times.

We always sat at a table and were given our food but now we often put the food in the middle of the table and people can help themselves. We try to set the table nicely but no themes or house decorating for us and, if he remembers, Vince does take his apron off.

but I'm curious.
