Weet-bix for goats

Good morning folks from a bright and sunny West Australian MONDAY morning. I’ve just read Jennifer’s (@Marty1) post about reject cornflakes being made into beer. You can catch up up if you missed it: http://www.mylot.com/post/3235030/will-you-have-orange-juice-milk-or-beer-with-your-breakfast.
When I helped my sister and nephew with their goats, part of their diet consisted of reject Weet-bix. These were delivered in a huge bag about the size of a small car. Most looked perfectly fine to me but there were a lot of broken ones amongst them. Apparently they are also gluten-free, not that it mattered.
The goats absolutely loved them and as stock foods go, they were a cheap supplement. It’s good that these are going to landfill. I wonder what other reject foods/drinks could be utilised in this way? Maybe not beer. A yardful of tipsy goats doesn’t bear thinking about although it might make a great YouTube clip.
The photo is of one of my son’s little goats showing his skills on the balance beam.

Cute goat. We used to be able to buy old bread at a bakery but it closed. I loved it and the chickens did too.

@JudyEv Same here, but I have seen no problems with it. Mom and Dad at times fed that only and the chickens were fat and happy.

I think some do that here too but bread has started getting a bad rap as food for wild ducks and wildlife like kangaroos.

You should enter the little goat in the goat olympics as he has amazing balance.
Is there anything that goats won't eat?

All of a sudden I am intrigued to read that post. I know I skipped over it a couple times but now I will have to have a look. What are Weet-Bix? That being said, when I worked in food manufacturing we regularly would send reject food to pig farms, mink farms, and other types. It's amazing what these animals can eat.

They climb on things naturally. The goat hasn't been trained at all. They just love to climb and get up on things.

Many of the actual biscuits look fine but I guess if one is broken the lot get thrown. Certainly the waste is shocking.
