It’s all relative

MyLotter Always smiling (@allknowing) wrote recently about a fun run held in Germany. This is the discussion if you want to read more:
M.-L. (@MALUSE ) commented that it was funny she had to come to an American site to read a post by an Indian member to learn about something that happened in her home country. She went on to say that, when she checked, she discovered the event was held in a ‘tiny’ town of ~12.500 inhabitants.
This might be tiny by some standards but in Western Australia we only have nine towns with populations over 12,500. My small town has 2,500 people so perhaps I should be calling Donnybrook miniscule. As the title says, it’s all relative.
We have seen revelers wearing santa caps getting into the feel of Christmas but this is hilarious One thousand runners in Germany dressed as Santas took to...

Yes, it's all relative. Here in the wilderness
, there is one small town that has about 500 residents and a few businesses, plus a bank, post office and market..one shopping center that serves the lake area where I live, and a bigger town the county seat..that has a few thousand people.

@snowy22315 That sounds very similar to my town but mine sounds a wee by smaller and no lake.

When I was living in a city we lived in a flat. There were 54 flats in an area that is as big as the one we now have here in a semi rural town. Just compare the number of people in the building and how many of us live here in the same area.

@MarymargII Good idea. We have a Santa hat somewhere. Last time we used it Herc modelled it for us.

My town has more or less 10k populations and half of it were registered voters. Just last month a fun run was also held in my town.

So that is a very big town too. How many were in the fun run?

@JudyEv yes, indeed. Lots of differences. I keep on being spontaneous here in my home country while everything is planned in my home in Germany. It is no good to compare both countries because it is my choice to live here and there for a few months.

Yes, they're apples but they look dusty. They must have been repainted as they look very bright at the moment.

I just looked up Walnut Creek and that seems a sizeable town too. Is it regarded as such there or considered 'small' or 'large'?

It certainly is. There are many pockets of small towns like yours in the US. Many are in Texas, where I grew up.
