Slept right through the alarm

Empty bed at the hospital. This was when hubby was in for his procedures.
I was going to get up and post before we went, but I slept right through the alarm.
We were there just a bit before 8 a.m. Pre op prep was done, he was the first scheduled for today and was taken back by 9 as scheduled. Both procedures were finished by 10 a.m.
Then we had recovery time, then I went to Dollar General to get some stuff the doctor wants him to take for a while.
Bob has a bleeding ulcer. Doc biopsied it and will let us know if it is from H. Pylori, a bacteria. 60% or so of ulcers are. IF so he will take another antibiotic. He will take Prilosec for a couple of months
Also there are some other things going on that can cause him to lose blood, BUT

NO CANCER and NO POLYPS.
nothing life threatening.
Have I mentioned that I am glad we were forced into changing Primary Care Physicians?
I have promised Bob a good meal tonight, steak and potatoes, and asparagus for sure.
He has to switch to an enteric coated 81 mg. aspirin, take prilosec, avoid a couple of foods, and ibuprofen. Oh and alcohol, and tobacco products. Neither of those is a problem for him.
So, I should be here for a while today, now that I am home.
Happy Lotting, friends.

We had steak, baked potato, asparagus and apple crisp. One thing Bob is supposed to do is eat more fiber--fruits, veggies, whole grains. All so very good for both of us.

Waiting for a doctor to decide to refer you is daunting. Old doc put this off for a couple of years. New doc is the bomb, says, This needs done, no reason not to and you can have it done here in our hospital--Less than two weeks and it is done, NOW to work on healing the ulcer, etc. Oh, and she says if our current urologist cannot take care of the business at hand, she will get someone else for that as well. Her attitude is making Bob feel so much better.

@DianneN He sees the urologist Monday, then the primary care on Wednesday. We will see how that goes. We will see at that time if we will need a new urologist.

It is exhausting not only for the person going through it but for you as well. You probably needed the sleep. That is hard having an ulcer let alone a bleeding one. Glad not life threatening.

Yes, the concern is always there. We were told of risks, but he sailed right on through.

He is eating well and resting and it will happen. We will follow doctor's orders.

Yes, it is. If the next issue is cared for, hubby will be back in good shape. This is a grand start, though.

Yes, he is very encouraged. He had been very down in the dumps and a little nervous about this situation. He is also not used to being unable to eat much.

This is a huge weight off our shoulders. Yes, losing blood anywhere is serious, but knowing how to treat it is great.

Yes, so are we. Actually we feel like we are in a good place, doctor wise, for a change.

It sounds like better news rather than totally bad news. I hope your hubby has a speedy recovery.

These problems will be easily dealt with. It makes him feel better just getting the news.

Yes, what it boils down to is that there are things that make him bleed internally and there are ways we can treat it and make it better.
